Opening in 2022, the new Battery Fabrication and Testing Facility features cutting-edge equipment available to UT Battery Research Group partners. The new facility will include 2,400 square feet of space in the Center for Electromechanics at UT's J.J. Pickle Research Campus.

• Large dry room for all prefabrication and characterization processes
• Produce up to 40 Ah capacity pouch cells (3 - 40 Ah range)
• Destructive testing capability meeting UN/DOT 38.3
• Long-term battery cycling under controlled environment conditions
• Start-of-the-art characterization and testing capabilities through UT’s extensive facilities

• Slurry Mixer – 2L mixing capacity
• Electrode Calendering Machine (IMC) – 3 to 30 MPM, 150^oC roll heat, 230 mm max width

Take Your Technology to the Next Level

• Utilize over 100 instruments and pieces of equipment to characterize your battery materials, observe their behavior in situ during cycling or conduct post-mortem analysis at one of our many centers and facilities, including the Texas Materials Institute, the Electron Microscopy Facility or the Center for Electrochemistry.
• Gain greater understanding of your product by conducting a project with our distinguished faculty.
